I'm one episode in and I'm all in. A story about the beginnings of criminal psychology and profiling that will lead to much of CBS's success at creating entertaining, if somewhat shallow, procedurals like Criminal Minds and The Mentalist.

But this is David Fincher, so it goes places CBS wouldn't dare to touch. It's dark and stylish and is basically a companion piece to what I consider his best movie, Zodiac. It is mind-numbingly slow, but in a good way. If you loved Zodiac, this should be good enough for you. If you hate slow to develop dramas, this is probably one to avoid. It does star Glee's very own Jonathan Groff (as Maggie would say, TV's been trying to make Jonathan Groff happen for a long time). Maybe this is time to shine?
